About This Place

La Poblanita is a vibrant Mexican restaurant nestled in the heart of Fort Myers, Florida, at 12145 S Cleveland Ave. Celebrated for its outstanding authenticity and fresh, bold flavors, this local gem offers a true taste of Mexico right here in the U.S.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Tacos Al Pastor—thinly sliced marinated pork kissed by the grill’s smoke and topped with juicy pineapple, creating a sublime sweet-and-savory harmony that lingers delightfully on the palate. Equally irresistible are their Steak Tacos Carne Asada and hefty Burrito Carne Asada, which deliver richly seasoned, tender meats accompanied by flavorful beans and aromatic rice. Each tortilla is freshly made, providing a perfect, soft yet sturdy canvas for all their fillings.

Beyond tacos, La Poblanita offers an impressive variety including Quesadillas, Tortas (with the beloved Torta Al Pastor standing out), and the rustic Huarache. For seafood lovers, dishes like the fiery Camaron A La Diabla and refreshing Ceviche De Camaron provide exciting layers of spice and zest that awaken the senses. And the Menudo Riquisimo, a hearty, slow-simmered soup, is praised by locals as a soul-soothing classic, rich with tender meat and layered with authentic Mexican spices.

Complementing the food is a thoughtfully curated selection of drinks, including perfectly balanced Micheladas—spicy, tangy, and refreshing—the ideal companions to the intense flavors of the dishes.

The dining atmosphere at La Poblanita echoes the warmth and cheer of a close-knit Mexican family gathering. Customers frequently rave about the attentive, friendly staff who make every visit feel welcoming and personal. From the inviting interior to the bustling buzz of satisfied diners, the vibe is casual yet lively, making it a great spot for families, friends, or anyone craving genuine, time-honored Mexican cuisine.

Regulars like Alyssa Pate express heartfelt devotion to the restaurant, praising the consistent excellence of the pastor, lengua, and steak, while others commend the fresh chips and salsas that set the tone for the meal. Stacie Dionne highlights the freshness and homemade quality in every bite, from the tangy ceviche to the robust burritos and huaraches. The generous portions consistently leave diners with ample leftovers, underscoring La Poblanita’s commitment to value and satisfaction.

Whether you’re seeking the perfect taco, a hearty soup, or an authentic bite of Mexico in a relaxed setting, La Poblanita delivers a deeply satisfying experience that resonates long after the meal is over. I love this place with my whole heart. I’ve been coming here for YEARS and it’s consistently amazing, the chicken, pastor, lengua, steak, literally all hits. I’ve also tried a torta once and i remember it also being good. The chips and salsa are top tier also and the whole vibe in there is great the employees are all so so nice. If this place ever closed idk what I would do with myself. I’m excited to try the carne asada plate next time it looked so good today ily poblanita

The food is so fresh and tasty. I can recommend the ceviche, the tacos, the burritos, the huaraches personally. The beans are AMAZING if a bit salty. I added jasmine rice when I got home and made a soup for the next 2 days. The tortilla chips are freshly made and the salsas are homemade. Surprisingly, no barbacoa, but I know Chef would do it up right if he added it to the menu. (Hint) And, they are so busy on Sundays, they cannot wrap burritos. Open 10-8 every day.

And don't even get me started on the service—friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. It's an experience you won't want to miss!

Great service, excellent authentic food, unique and relaxing casual environment. I highly recommend. Drove 45 min to eat at this delightful little hidden gem. Wish I lived closer, I would eat there all the time. The portions are very generous as well. I ordered one item and still took home enough food to have a second meal.

Excellent. It’s a taco shop but so good. The tortillas are fresh made, the veggies crisp and delicious. Pork al Pastor with nice pineapple. The Menudo was the star of the shop. The spicy long simmered broth was filled to the brim with meat and menudo. It was perfect to sooth the soul. . Very authentic with families dining together.

Some of my favorite Mexican food in SWFL, maybe all time. Our waitress talked with us and explained everything throughly. The food was amazing, the Lengua is to die for! Will definitely be a return customer.

We visited for the first time on Tuesday and were not disappointed. The waitress answered our questions and took our orders. The food arrived very soon. In the meantime we chose our bottled sodas, I got Mexican Coca Cola and it was yummy. The quesadillas were huge and delicious. Rice and beans cooked to perfection. We would recommend it to anyone who loves good food. We will be returning soon.
